Nutrition with Dr. Krystle Zuniga PhD, RD, LD
Krystle Zuniga has a PhD in Nutritional Sciences and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She was previously an assistant professor in Nutrition at Texas State University where she taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate nutrition courses and conducted nutrition and cancer research. She used basic, clinical, and epidemiological studies to identify the effects of nutrition, and physical activity on clinical outcomes and patient quality of life. In partnership with Cancer Rehab and Integrative Medicine, she provides educational seminars and workshops using evidence-based nutrition to help cancer survivors develop individualized nutrition care plans that meet nutrient needs, manage side effects, and promote health and recovery.
As a registered and licensed dietitian, she is a part of the integrative and patient-centered model of cancer care and research at LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes at Dell Medical School. Krystle enjoys sharing her passion, experience and knowledge in nutrition to help cancer patients and survivors feel empowered, using nutrition to optimize outcomes and improve quality of life.

Krystle has presented her nutrition research across the country, and her research has been published in scientific journals including Cancer Prevention Research, Nutrition and Cancer, European Journal of Nutrition, Journal of Geriatric Oncology, and Journal of Women’s Health. She enjoys sharing her passion for nutrition and regularly speaks at community educational events at Breast Cancer Resource Center, LIVESTRONG at YMCA, and Capital of Texas Team Survivor.
